About HypnosisYou have a most powerful tool within you, the power of your subconscious mind and this can be utilised via the phenomenon of hypnosis. Hypnosis is an amazing natural resource which, when guided by a hypnotherapist, enables you to access your subconscious and make significant and long lasting changes very quickly. These changes can result in altering life-long patters of behaviour and removing unwanted habits. Many people find themselves looking at problem situations in a new way, with newly gained insight that empowers them to overcome obstacles and go beyond self limiting beliefs. Everyone, at some time in their lives, experiences a natural hypnotic state, in fact most people experience it on a daily basis, for instance when you are reading a book or engrossed in your work, when your mind is fully focussed on what you are doing and everything else fades into the background. When you finally come out of the state, you may be surprised to see how much time has passed by or realise that someone has been trying to get your attention. Hypnotherapy is a very pleasant experience and most people feel extremely relaxed, however you don’t need to be totally relaxed or go into a very ‘deep’ hypnotic state for significant changes to take place. Some people are concerned they may lose consciousness, forget everything that’s happened or be made to act against their will, however with hypnotherapy you are always in control and you can choose to come out of the hypnotic state any time you wish to. Some clients remember most, if not all, of what has happened during the session whilst others only remember a small amount. There are people who worry that they are not ‘hypnotisable’ or that their conscious mind will not ‘allow’ them to go into a hypnotic state. This is completely normal and should not have an impact on the effectiveness of the treatment. There is only one thing to remember during hypnotherapy and that is there is no right or wrong way of experiencing it.
